Los Angeles native Matthew Forsyth is a 30-year music industry veteran. An accomplished drummer, Forsyth is also in demand as a producer and live/studio engineer for local and national acts.

Forsyth started his career at the age of 16 performing with local bands on the Sunset Strip. His work with progressive rock band Cornerstone put Forsyth on the map in the 1990s. This is where he developed engineering skills and soon was splitting time between performing and producing for bands across the LA area.

A dependable engineer with a great musical understanding and excellent technical skills, Forsyth landed gigs working with artists such as Chick Corea, Macy Gray, Jackie DeShannon, Blood Sweat and Tears, and Christina Aguilera. In the early 2000s, he built relationships with iconic drummer/producers Simon Phillips and Dave Weckl and spent several years assisting them on many recording projects.

While earning his BM in Jazz Studies from California State University Northridge, Forsyth formed the Los Angeles Jazz College Jam Night. The Jam Nights presented rising stars in the LA music school scene and attracted sold-out crowds at The Baked Potato and other venues. Jazz icons Scott Kinsey, Dave Weckl, Gary Novak, and others regularly stopped by to sit in with the students.

Forsyth is a gifted educator and holds a position as Assistant Professor of Media Production and Technology at Daytona State College, while continuing to be a part of the vibrant music scene in Nashville, TN.
